HELLO FRESHERS

CONGRATULATIONS laugh

All of the results will be out tomorrow and confirmation of your places will be sent soon. Shortly, you will also receive a rather large bundle of informative letters and booklets from Balliol and the JCR – you really need to read these! However, if you can't wait for that this link will provide you with pretty much everything you might need (and if you lose any of the stuff sent by post it’s not a disaster) http://www.balliol.ox.ac.uk/current-members/freshers-e-guide

Particularly useful will be:

The tick-list of things it is CRUCIAL you do before you arrive: http://www.balliol.ox.ac.uk/sites/default/files/TICK-LIST.pdf

The updated Balliol for Beginners Guide written by the JCR so you know what to expect (well worth a read!): http://www.balliol.ox.ac.uk/sites/default/files/balliol_for_beginners_2011.pdf

The JCR provides a lot for your life as a student whilst at Balliol (Socially, Welfare, Extra-curricular etc) and so here a few introductory letters you might like to read:

Rowing: http://www.balliol.ox.ac.uk/sites/default/files/bcbc_freshers_letter.pdf

Football: http://www.balliol.ox.ac.uk/sites/default/files/balliol_college_football.pdf

Rugby: http://www.balliol.ox.ac.uk/sites/default/files/balliol_college_rugby.pdf

Entertainment: http://www.ballioljcr.org/sites/default/files/Freshers' week entertainment.pdf

JCR Pantry (FOOD!!): http://www.ballioljcr.org/sites/default/files/JCR Pantry.pdf

Also being sent your way is a freshers’ guide from OUSU  - this will come in post for domestic students or by email for international students.

You can browse both the college website (www.balliol.ox.ac.uk) and this JCR website if you want any more information or email me! And if you have any questions or problems (e.g. if the t-shirt link does not work) send me an email: juliette.kelly@balliol.ox.ac.uk

See you in October!
