15 September
Balliol college open days for 2006. See www.balliol.ox.ac.uk for details on application and for open days 2007.
20th September Deadline for some non-EU overseas applications to Oxford (see ‘international students’ section at www.admissions.ox.ac.uk)
15th October Deadline for EU and home applications to Oxford
Late October/early November If you have submitted an open application, the Admissions Office will inform you of the college to which your application has been allocated. ALL candidates will receive a letter of acknowledgement from their college of preference or allocation at this point.
10th November Applicants for subjects which require written work to be submitted will be asked to submit work by this date. Specific details about written work- which courses and what to submit are in the back of the official University Prospectus or at www.admissions.ox.ac.uk
December If you are successful at obtaining an interview, you will be asked to come up to Balliol for 1/2/3 days. You will have at least 1 interview in the college of preference, and most students will have at least one other, either at Balliol or elsewhere (though not always).
Late December/Early January You will receive notification on whether or not you’ve been successful in your application and the conditional grades required to get in come August.
August Once you’ve received your results and the tutors know if you’ve met your grades, the college will contact you to ask you to confirm your place.
