Peer Support

What is Peer Support?

Peer supporters are trained by the University counselling service to listen and support other students. We are not here to solve your problems, but to help you work through whatever is on your mind, however big or small. We can also point you towards other sources of help. We offer a confidential, informal service and are happy to help with anything that is on your mind. We can listen and talk, and we won’t moralise, criticise or judge you in any way.

The current JCR peer supporters are:

Cailean Gallagher cailean.gallagher@balliol.ox.ac.uk

During term time if you email us we will try to get back to you within 24 hours to arrange a time and place to meet up. We are always happy to be contacted whatever you want to talk about, big or small. We aren’t here to tell you what to do, or to judge you, but we are always available if you want to talk to someone in confidence, or get some information on the other support services available.
