Spending under £50
To now be brought to committee meetings, where we’ll vote on them. If there’s disagreement, can ask them to bring it to a GM.
Bop shifts
VP (Org) suggests payment, maybe for future bops, not feasible for this one. To be discussed in next meeting. Volunteers to clean up this week – Bella, Tristan, Callum, JC, Eve, Keira.
Renaming EMOs
Callum demands ERMO. People agree it sounds nicer
Housing
Same for main site and Jowett/Masters. Current priority – finalists with FHS exams, non-finalists with FHS exams (but not 3rd year), non-finalists without FHS exams, 2nd years with FHS exams, 2nd years without FHS exams.
Points raised:
- How to deal with medics (different for last 3 years – MCR matter) and chemists (4 year degrees)?
- What if a 4-year STEM person wants to stay in main site in 3rd year because they need to have long lease for 4th year? So perhaps giving 3rd year STEM same priority as 3rd year humanities?
- Separate for short-lease or long-lease?
Options for hall
Survey has elicited 65 responses.
Recently spoke with main chef, if we recommend vegetarian dishes or recipes, he’s open to suggestions. VP Org believes that is his job exactly, seems like he can’t do it.
Ask college to send out hall menus weekly, or maybe remove it from security. Or add to welfare email? Greg Butler email?
Gluten-free veggies don’t have many options. But also making combos too specific and accommodating to dietary requirements reduces variety of items they can make.
A pre-payment meal plan for veggies (so it could be cheaper and incentivise it).
Student Support
Please raise any ideas for real financial problems. Lack of awareness. Infinite money if you ask for it.
Emails
Angry VP Org. Too many. Should have weekly welfare email, weekly events bulletin. Wants to include any activities by JCR members in his weekly email. AVOID email forwards, forward to Towa please.
JCR Website
Work in progress with IT Officer. IT Officer demands all to sign up on website so that you can see committee online.
JCR Projects
Secretary encourages these. Treasurer assures that we have the money, and will find budget for any ideas that are worth it.
