In attendance – President, Secretary, Women’s, Disabilities, Welfaries, Lindsay, E&E, Foodie, Tortoise, Duckworth, Freshers’, Access, EMO, CAFGO.

Soda Fountain

Using a Soda Fountain rather than bottles. Prices would go up, but lower plastic waste. Almost everyone in favour, Tortoise Rep unsure.

Tortoise News

Gardener not keen on tortoise, subsequent students may not be so keen on looking after tortoise, fear burden may fall on him and the team. Issues in practicality, e.g., risk of fox. Could better use a sanctuary to look after an injured hedgehog. 

E&E thinks that if the Comrade Tortoise role goes unfilled, they could easily assist with responsibilities. But other ideas – E&E could work with Comrade Tortoise on rehabilitating animals, could be an idea that College is more open to. Idea of animal sanctuaries, also doing more good for world. Maybe bees? Or bee-friendly areas? Goldfish? 

Domestic Bursar Meeting

President to raise idea of renting out picnic blankets with Domestic Bursar. Also to clarify policy on ‘no ball games’ and spikeball, mice. Idea – more airbeds, 3 is often insufficient on bop nights.

Have a request for painting sessions, up to 20 people can attend for 2 hours (£400). Perhaps during Welfare Week. Could subsidise it a bit. 

Bop Cleanup this week

JC, Reuben, Maya, Bea on duty. 

Trans issues

In light of recent Supreme Court judgement. Could work on reemphasising that we are an inclusive community, all are welcome. Could send out a round robin stressing that everyone is welcome in Women’s events. President to share a message on WhatsApp group with members of the community on there reaffirming the message. Could check if trans flag in JCR feasible.
