Minutes
Update from SU about running for Sab officer. Why itâs good â get paid, build lots of contacts. Need to rusticate. [Ryan enters late]
Updates
Round of applause for Ryan and Daisy for bop. Charity bake sale went well â ÂŁ190, helped by baking by Nikita and Cassie. Welfare tea went well.
Spending under ÂŁ50
Luke wants ÂŁ6 for batteries for Wii remotes. All in support, except Ryan.
Alternative prospectus
Maddie presents and explains, asks about whether to include student finance info. Agree to do so only to the extent that it is informal, if its more formal, best in official prospectus. Facebook to ask if anyone wants to be involved.
EFMOs
Building on motion brought at last GM and some criticism. Suggests having quota of one person under ethnic minority, no quota for faith minority. Agreed that this is the best way to do it, but still have people running together as role requires cooperation, so nice to let people choose who they want to run with. Agree to draft a new constitutional amendment amended to include this, so in effect, scrap one passed partially at last GM.
Redbird
Updates from Towa that stash is open.

Bops
People happy with security and number of people at BOP. No silver strings next time for decoration please, very messy to clean up. Make sure to send boptail strengths in advance. Need to make sure to have water poured out and ready like boptails are. Advertising when bop bar will close, maybe 11:45.
Reports of people stealing alcohol, thoughts on camera in corner of JCR on only for bops to prevent and identify people who steal alcohol? CCTV would go to plodge. General agreement that it seems a good idea. Maybe even a dummy camera. If someone non-Balliol steals, canât do much but preventative element important. Ensure that people other than those on shifts are not behind table. Maybe using a neon band or sticker on bottle so that if they try to steal, blatantly obvious.
Wristbands idea â unsure about logistics, stealing? As long as it can be done in an efficient manner. But may be useful to check whether people are known by Balliol people. Current policy â 1 Balliol person can bring 5 people. Making sure Balliol people know this in advance. Want accountability â Balliol people accountable for non-Balliol friends. Clicker system to check how many people are entering? Stamps? Entz not too big a fan of a guest list â makes it too formal. Issue that even with wristbands or stamps, canât associate individuals with particular Balliol members for full accountability. Only solution is more CCTV in all of JCR, but not popular.
Laundry
Idea of a sticker on laundry machine to make it obvious when a laundry machine is broken and has been reported. A poster to make people aware of ticket system â so they know who to email and how. Maybe a QR code on the poster taking people directly to somewhere where they can report.
Aim is to make it very clear when an issue has been reported â issue right now when no one reports it but assumes someone else has.
And then when maintenance fixes, they can put a sticker to show that they have resolved.
Donât want to spend money on a new machine unless it has real benefit.
Suggestion for maintenance to adjust scheduler system so when machine is broken, people canât book it or know it is broken. But people sometimes book in advance, perhaps it will be fixed or broken again by then. Making it clear when machine will be fixed by is useful.
Dryer A doesnât work â but is that an issue with it or has it just not been reported?
End of meeting.
